Cobalt Brand Discus Flake Fish Food

Cobalt Brand Discus Flake Fish Food

If you are keeping you need to be careful about what do you feed them. They are sensitive and picky fish. You will find they refuse to eat most of the new food you try to introduce. But still you need to have give them different things like minced Tuna, chicken, beef to keep them healthy and happy. But these things won't provide all the vitamins and things they need. So you need to use fish food too.

Problem with normal pellet food is Discus can end up with bloating other intestine problems if you just feed them average fish food you get from petshops. Aqua Master Discus Feed

Aqua Master Discus Feed another Discus pellet food I used feed my Discus fish. I'm not sure about its quality but my Discus fish loved it. I think it worked as a natural color enhancer too. I used to feed my Discus like 8 times a day and  Aqua Master Discus Feed didn't spoil water. Also it's cheaper than most of other Discus food types.

Discus Food - Ocean Free SuperBITS

Ocean Free SuperBITS is a Discus pellet feed for which's a slow sinking granular feed for mid-level and bottom dwelling fishes. Label says special immune substance added will intensify natural color, enhance body shape, and will not pollute water. If fish don't eat it then it would pollute water whatever they say.
I use Ocean Free SuperBITS as their main meal these days feeding them between 4-6 times a day ( My Discus fish are still not 2 years old so they are still young). Discus like this pellet food very much. Discus are very picky about food. I have some other pellet food they keep refusing for 6 months now. But this is one food they started eating from the first day I did feed them Ocean Free SuperBITS. I found this in Local pet shops but I haven't seen this in many too Online shops like Petco or Amazon. Maybe its too new or many Ocean Free SuperBITS is not popular enough. But I think its a good food. Discus fish like it. I can see it has enhanced Discus fish colors.

Supplemental food for Discus

Discus fish love to eat also they like to eat variety of things. There is a myth Discus fish doesn't eat like other fish. That's not true. If your Discus fish don't eat then something wrong with them, probably sick ! Only exception is right after you add them to your aquarium. After they get used to the tank they should be always hungry and come near to glass when you are near. Discus would simply beg for food.

To keep healthy Discus you need to give them quality food. If you buy from pet store always buy quality Discus food if you want your Discus fish to grow healthy and fast. Also you can give other Supplemental food with those. This is what I give,

01. Checken Heart
02. Beef Heart
03. Freeze Dried Blood worms
04. Dried tiny shrimps
05. Fish (Tuna etc)
06. Chicken minced
07. Beef minced

Don't put too much of these, only a little bit enough for like 15 minutes. If your Discus are healthy then they would be always hungry. If your Discus fish are less than 2 years old then you can feed them up to 8 times a day. So don't give them same thing all these 8 times every single days.
